Job Summary: Production Manager

Your tasks

The Production Manager directly manages all production operations for the site.  This individual is responsible for managing production plans, quality issues, and production trials.  They are responsible for the communication and the coordination of these items among the multiple production lines and the ancillary departments.   This role is responsible for the preparation and implementation of procedures, specifications, and other written aids which are used for training and in the operation of the production lines.  S/He is responsible for ensuring that all production employees are trained in all areas of operaterations for the best possible product yields, quality standards, and efficiency results.

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Lead by example and ensure implementation of organizational objectives for workplace safety and coordinate activities with HSE Manager, while meeting the internal Freudenberg, ISO 14000 & OHSAS 18002 standards.
  • Manage the continuous 24/7 production operation ensuring that Managers, Supervisors, and/or Operators within the Production group are trained in how to operate the manufacturing lines for the best possible product yields, quality standards, and efficiency results.
  • Maintain an active cost reduction program for raw materials, operating supplies, and direct labor costs.
  • Serve as a consultant on a call-in basis to assist the Production Line Managers and Line Supervisors in the handling of difficult manufacturing problems.  Serve as the manufacturing on-call representative according to the schedules developed.
  • Maintain awareness of employee welfare, satisfaction, and grievances within the manufacturing department.
  • Plan, delegate and manage work assignments and special projects.
  • Commit to and participate in activities of continuous improvement.

 


Our requirements

  • BS in Engineering, Industrial Operations Management or equivilant field.
  • Minimum 7 years in Polymer or Nonwovens production environment, with minimum 3 years in production management. 
  • Proven experience in leading teams in order to accomplish production goals and objectives. 
  • Proficient in using multiple data sources and reports to conduct analysis, resulting in implementation of action plans.
  • Excellent communication skills to effectively interface with all levels of management and employees.
  • Six Sigma/Lean experience is strongly preferred, and the ability to foster Six Sigma/Lean learning initiatives, and create an environment of teamwork.
  • Strong follow up and attention to details in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to proactively identify and resolve Production Line issues.
  • Ability to prioritize, handle multiple tasks, customer demands and flexibility in job assignments, as well as good project management experience.
  • Strong commitment to safety, environmental, workplace organization and housekeeping.
  • Able to work non-standard weekly schedule including off shifts and on-call status.

  • Strong computer proficiencies, and Microsoft office
